Education will Unlock Doors to Opportunity, Dignity, and Hope for a Brighter Future
Dear Rotarians
Greetings to you all as we begin another new month.
As we celebrate our theme this month of Basic Education and Literacy which is one of our areas of focus and indeed one that has been close to our hearts as Rotarians over the years, we not only understand the need but also know the transformative power of education. Let us within our clubs and through our collective efforts renew our dedication to education and reflect on the impact we have made while also reflecting on what we can do better. Let us all find a way of honouring our theme. If we do not currently have an education project in the club let us look for some hands on activity or even a speaker and ensure we understand the need that surrounds us. Education will open doors for our families and our communities and each time we help someone gain the gift of literacy, we unlock doors to opportunity, dignity, and hope for a brighter future and play a vital role in breaking the cycle of poverty.
My visits to your clubs have been very humbling and I am grateful for the opportunity to see the magic of your works first hand. I am in awe at the spirit of service, the impact, the transformation you are bringing in our communities and for your love for Rotary. Rotary truly gives us the
opportunity to live a purpose filled life and thank you for your wonderful hearts. Let us please us remember to share our stories with the communities, partners and corporates and with good appreciation of whoever may have helped us along the way. This is the main way people will understand what Rotarians do by our works and join in support or as members. We need all the helping hands we can get.
We have already completed two months of this Rotary year and I trust we are now well settled and have built up the momentum to fulfil the targets we have set ourselves. I humbly request you all to give it your very best. The time is now. Let us keep creating that magic that we Rotarians do so well and let us make Rotary Irresistible.
Please know how special each and everyone of you is, and that the legacy we shall leave in this world is one to be proud of and will live on beyond us. It is a great privilege so let us continue serving with due care.
